Our final wedding of 2018 was the beautiful elopement of Mike and Michelle. Mike and Michelle travelled to Thailand over the festive season and made the brave decision to elope whilst they were there. They chose my favourite wedding destination, Koh Samui to say I Do and what a great choice they made. Despite it being wet season, the sun shone brightly all day long.
Whilst every wedding is emotional, I find that elopements have that heightened level of emotion as it is just the bride and groom together, declaring their love for one another. It’s very rare that the tears don’t flow!
Whilst some people can’t understand the thought of not having close friends and family there to share their day with them, elopements are becoming much more popular. Couples love the thought of focusing on themselves only, as ultimately, that is what the day is about. Look at this lovely picture of Mike helping Michelle into her dress. You don’t usually get that with a big fancy wedding.
Most elopements will opt for a traditional Western style wedding, with the majority taking place on the beautiful sandy beaches. This was no exception. Alfredo was there for Michelle & Mike to guide them through their ceremony, laughing and crying together with them throughout the beautiful ceremony.
The ceremony took place at the lovely Peace Resort who supplied all of the wonderful flowers and decor as well as the set up for the love tree planting ceremony which took place after the vows were completed.
A romantic dinner took place afterwards no the beach, under the stars, which is where we left Michelle and Mike to enjoy the evening, their first as husband and wife.
The stunning photos were taken by our great friend Eak and his amazing team with hair and make up done by the talented Polina Pak.
