The first wedding of 2019 for me was at the lovely X2 Samui, a small boutique hotel located in the quiet Hua Thanon area in the South of Samui. I love the area down here as it’s really quiet and peaceful. What is perfect about this venue is that you can book out the whole place for your wedding party since it only has 26 rooms. This enables you to have the same level of privacy as you would get at a private villa without all of the additional expenses that go hand in hand with a villa wedding.
Kirra & Cole first contacted me about a year before the wedding, having just returned from a venue sourcing trip in Samui. They had seen a couple of venues and met with a wedding planner on the island but didn’t quite feel like they had the right match so went on a further hunt once they got back home. We had a Skype call so they could explain what they were looking for and I was shortly chosen as their wedding planner and shortly afterwards X2 was chosen as their perfect venue.
Choosing a wedding planner and a venue are two of the most important steps in arranging a destination wedding and it’s vital that you choose something that’s right for you. There are plenty of planners to choose from, all with different styles, different ideas and different ways of working and it’s so important you choose someone that you can work well with and who gets what you want. That’s not to say other planners aren’t as good, just not necessarily the right match. I never get upset when a couple chooses another planner over myself and totally understand that my style and way of working is not for everyone. What I pride myself on is that I will go the extra mile for every couple and almost nothing is out of the question. My reviews speak for themselves.
Kirra & Cole wanted a relaxed, rustic wedding with the importance on making sure their friends and family had a great time and we certainly achieved that. The girls day always starts that bit earlier with Hair & Make up done by the amazing Polina Pak with the guys chilling out by the pool for a couple of hours before their grooming regime starts! The day then gets started with the boys on the Chang and the girls with some bubbles. How every wedding day should start!
Once the guests arrived, we got everyone seated for the ceremony. The ceremony was conducted by the one and only Alfredo, one of the most popular Celebrants on the island, known to inject a bit of fun into the ceremony and as always he was on top form! The flower decorations were done by The Flower Factory and as always did not disappoint.
Post ceremony guests were treated with delicious canapes and were kept entertained with the lawn games from Destination Koh Samui Event Rentals
We moved into dinner as soon as the sunset shots were taken to ensure we had as much time as possible for the party! Before getting tucked into dinner, we had the funny and emotional speeches from the nearest and dearest, then the delicious sharing platters were served.
Once the stomachs were full, we moved into the cake cutting ceremony which was of course delicious as always from the lovely Cake On Samui The cake was served as dessert as the guests moved to the dancefloor for the first dance.
The party started in full swing with Koh Samui Events supplying all the party hits all night long and Samui Photobooth providing their photo booth for everyone to remember what a great evening they had. Dancing continued until 11pm when everyone moved to the after party.
I really loved being part of this wedding which was really relaxed and a great deal of fun. Everyone had a great time, and we had pretty much no hiccups, which is a rarity in the world of weddings!
Thank you to everyone else involved in making it such an amazing day;
