Bali is still a relatively new destination for me, having done only one previous wedding here before. It’s always daunting doing weddings in new places, but with the right team behind you, you know anything is possible.
After a trip to Bali, Abby & Elliott checked out many private villas, and decided that Villa Vedas would be their venue of choice. Villa Vedas is located in a quiet part of Bali close to Tanah Lot, approximately 40 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Canggu. The huge villa offers 100% privacy and exclusivity. It was described by guests as something out of a James Bond movie!
Abby spent the night before the wedding with the girls pampering themselves in the villa, whilst Elliott spent his last night of Freedom with the boys in Canggu, heading to Vedas on the morning of the wedding. The wedding day started bright and early with a continuation of the pampering for the girls. Abby’s friend took responsibility for the make up, and the girls from Yeanne Hair & Make up took charge of the hair styling, and a fine job they did too.
Elliott and the boys arrived at the villa around midday, grabbed some lunch and chilled out in the pool until it was their turn to e preened. The fantastic team from Bali Wedding Florence got the preparations underway erecting the flower canopy and decorations. As the villa and grounds were so beautiful already, Abby opted for a rustic theme to blend in with the natural beauty.
Guests began to arrive and were greeted with a delicious welcome mocktail supplied by Bali Catering Company and relaxing music from Silaen Group.
Once we knew the girls were ready (on time, may I add!) guests made their way to their seats to see the anticipated beautiful bride, and boy she didn’t disappoint! Making her own entrance down the main staircase, greeted at the bottom by both of the parents she made the walk down the aisle to a beaming Elliot. Guests were treat to a personalised sandalwood hand fan to keep them cool through the sunshine courtesy of SG Wedding Favours
The ceremony was performed by Heather Boylan, dressed in a traditional Balinese outfit and there weren’t many dry eyes in the house. The certificate was signed and the ceremony sealed with a kiss before walking back down the aisle as husband and wife. Rejoining the guests for group pictures, drinks and canapés, another set from Silaen Group led us into sunset pictures, before sitting down to a delicious dinner.
Speeches a plenty, we were kept entertained by Abby & Elliot’s nearest and dearest recounting many a story of knowing both of them and growing up together. More tears were shed and even more laughter, whilst working through a delicious 3 course meal cooked perfectly by Bali Catering Company.
The music was taken over by DJ Simon from Koh Samui Events, who deserves a big shout out for travelling all the way from Koh Samui to DJ this wedding. Having your trusted suppliers fly to new destinations to ease your worry with a new destination, you know they are keepers! Simon got the festivities started with the first dance of Ella Fitzgerald with Cheek to Cheek and kept the dance floor packed until the very end.
Another special shout out goes to Sound Solutions Asia who have also been a trusty supplier and provided all of the lighting and sound systems required for the whole day. This is the fourth destination we’ve worked together now, working with us in Koh Samui, Phuket and Hua Hin.
The party finally ended after a cheeky midnight dip in the huge swimming pool. It’s safe to say that a great day was had by all, and I’m sure there were some sore heads the next day! All the amazing was captured with stunning images provided by Maxtu Photography.
Another successful Dream Wedding created and managed by the wonderful team at Dream Asia Weddings. Until next time Bali 🙂
